A: Not at all! This retreat is about enjoying the experience in a way that feels good for you. If you’d rather relax on the beach, take a walk, or stay back at the house, that’s completely okay.

This retreat is best suited for swimmers hovering around 20min/1K pace (100’s on 2min), with some open water swimming experience. If you’ve mostly swum in lakes, that’s totally fine! We’ll be swimming in a supportive group, with one guide in the water, one on a kayak, no competing, no drops! The focus is on enjoying the water, not pushing limits.

Yes, a wetsuit is mandatory for all swims. The ocean temperature in April ranges from 15-18°C. A wetsuit provides warmth, buoyancy, and added safety. If you don’t have one, we can arrange to order one through Blue70, or you can rent one from us. We have a few pairs of extra thermal gloves, booties, and headbands should the cold start to seep in!

Yes, the house has WiFi, but reception around town can be spotty. Consider this an opportunity to unplug and be present!

Absolutely! While we provide a variety of nourishing meals and snacks, feel free to bring anything extra that makes you feel your best.

The weather in Bicheno can be unpredictable, so pack layers! Keep in mind all our yoga sessions will be held outdoors (weather permitting). Consider packing gloves, beanie and warm slippers to keep cozy pre & post swims. A rain jacket is a great addition too!

Completely optional! We will have mats, blocks and bolsters but if you prefer to bring your own, you are welcome to!
